Jesse Jackson Speaks Out On N.O. Election

NEW ORLEANS -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson still believes the New Orleans elections were unfair, he said Wednesday, although he never went through with a plan to challenge the results.
"We cannot unscramble that egg, but certainly, it was not fair," Jackson said when asked about the election prior to his address to the annual meeting of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International.
Complete interview:
Bex: Jesse, why did you not challenge the election as you promised?
Jesse: Well, Bex, it's like this. I...ach, ach, pain, pain, help!
Bex:
Oh Jesse, I'm so sorry. I forget to tell you I slipped you a "truth formula". Simply tell the truth, and the pain will go away.
Jesse:
OK, OK, anything. Even the truth. I did not challenge, because the black man won. Ahh, ahh, such relief. Pain is gone. Ahh!
